In the midst of this outsourcing rush, the typical American company will have an Indian company run the entire process with very little input from Americans. The Indian company would rarely, if ever, see an American for the life of their project. Thus, you have an Indian culture trying to run an American cultured company. THIS WILL NEVER WORK WELL as the two cultures are dramatically different.
India is driven only by costs and will do anything to cut corners. The culture does NOT consider the future impact of how it treats its customers. On the other hand, America is customer oriented. The philosophy is that if you treat the customer well, then this customer will remain loyal and enhance the reputation of the company, thus increasing its sales and profits higher than simply being cost conscience.
Even a company as prestigious as Delta Airlines has made this fatal mistake. Its customer service level has dropped significantly because of this. |
